Fulbright Opens New Calls for Master’s, PhD and Institutional Programs for 2026/27
The Fulbright Program has announced several open calls for the academic year 2026/2027, offering opportunities both for Portuguese candidates pursuing graduate studies in the United States and for Portuguese institutions seeking to host U.S. experts.
Fulbright Master’s Scholarship
If you are awaiting admission to a master’s program in the United States, you are invited to apply for the Fulbright Master’s Scholarship.

Fulbright PhD Scholarship (with FCT support)
Candidates expecting admission to a doctoral program in the U.S. for 2026/27 may apply for the Fulbright PhD Scholarship, supported by FCT.

Fulbright Specialists Program
Portuguese institutions may now submit proposals to host U.S. Specialists for short-term collaborations ranging from two to six weeks. Activities may include research projects, lectures, seminars, workshops, consultancy or curriculum development.

Fulbright Inter-Country Travel Grant Program
Also open is the call for the Inter-Country Travel Grant, which enables Portuguese institutions to host American Fulbright scholars already based in Europe for short-term teaching engagements, workshops, conferences or collaborative activities.
