The Conselho de Reitores das Universidades Portuguesas (CRUP) is a coordinating entity for university education in Portugal and includes as effective members all public universities, ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute, Portuguese Catholic University and IUM – University InstituteMilitary, in a total of 16 higher education institutions, seeking in this measure to constitute a nucleus of significant representation of an important part of the national system of Higher Education, collaborating in the formulation of national education, science and culture policies.
The Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) is a central service of the State’s direct administration, whose mission is to ensure the design, implementation and coordination of policies in the field of higher education that are the responsibility of the government area of science, technology and higher education.
DGES develops its work in articulation and cooperation with the other bodies, services and entities within the government area of science, technology and higher education, as well as with the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education, which translates into the definition and implementation of common activity plans, in the permanent exchange of information necessary to properly perform their respective tasks and in all the support requested by the member of the Government responsible for higher education.
Integrated in the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transition, Turismo de Portugal is the National Tourism Authority. Responsible for the promotion, enhancement and sustainability of tourist activity, it brings together in a single entity all institutional competencies relating to the stimulation of tourism, from supply to demand. With a privileged relationship with other public entities and economic agents in the country and abroad, Turismo de Portugal is committed to strengthening tourism as one of the main growth engines of the Portuguese economy.
